We're not a kennel — we're a family. And every puppy we raise is treated like one of our own.
How Lovable Basset Hounds Began
It started with one dog — a wrinkly, floppy-eared Basset Hound named Beau who changed our family forever. His gentle nature, his patience with our kids, and his uncanny ability to make everyone smile convinced us that this breed deserved to be shared with the world.
We spent years learning from experienced breeders, studying health testing protocols, and building relationships with veterinary specialists before we ever produced our first litter. We wanted to do this right — not just well.
Today, Lovable Basset Hounds is a small, intentional program. We raise one or two litters per year, which means every puppy gets the attention, socialization, and love they deserve before going home with their new family.
Our Breeding Philosophy
Health First, Always
We health test every dog in our program before breeding. OFA certifications, eye exams, and cardiac evaluations are non-negotiable. We share all results openly.
Temperament Matters
A beautiful dog with a difficult temperament isn't a good match for most families. We select for calm, confident, affectionate dogs — the kind that thrive as family companions.
Small and Intentional
We raise one or two litters per year. This isn't a volume business — it's a passion. Fewer litters means more time, attention, and love for every puppy we produce.
Lifetime Support
When you adopt from us, you gain a resource for life. We're always available for questions, guidance, and support — whether it's your puppy's first week or their tenth birthday.
What We Do Before Your Puppy Comes Home
- Born and raised in our home — never in a kennel or barn
- Socialized with children, adults, and household sounds from day one
- Veterinary health check and first vaccinations before going home
- Deworming on schedule per veterinary protocol
- Microchipped for permanent identification
- Sent home with a care packet, feeding schedule, and breeder contact info

We love working with first-time dog owners. Basset Hounds are one of the best breeds for new owners — they're gentle, low-energy indoors, and deeply loyal. We'll walk you through everything: what to expect the first week, how to set up your home, what to feed, and how to find a great local vet. You'll never feel alone in this journey.
